> >Can you back this assertion up with facts? > >Besides, you can get 3e and 3.5e for free, so this seems irrelevant. > No, not right now, but I'm sure if I searched I might find some of the articles still up on the internet. WoTC's crusade against electronic media was a few years ago, right after they took over TSR. And yes, it was about copyrighted material, and software that aleady had that material in electronic form. This software made it easy to copy and distribute the material. For example, the Realms Atlas had all those maps that could easily be copied and distributed. Spreading the matreial was illegal, but owning the CD isn't. The CD was frowned upon by WoTC, though, so they didn't support it and tried to make it go away discretely. Some of the people who were complianing about this said TSR let the Core Rules and Realms Atlas be created as a parting gift to their fans, before WoTC took them over. But I never bought the Atlas in time. I do want to buy a copy, if anybody has one send me an email (coyotedkm@???????.com) and how much you want. I'm not into spreading copyrighted material, I just want some new maps for my own games. I changed over from a bookshelf of D & D material to all electronic resources, because it takes up much less space and is far more convenient. - Coyote, the Desert Dog > >> I used to have a few links to a couple of >>sites where some nasty letters WoTC sent to people had been posted up, >>but >>the fear of lawsuits kept most people from putting any 2nd ed. >>material from >>the Core Rules online.
