I altered the deathspide a bit, as, is often noted, the spelljammer deck
plans don'teally add up. So I added a top weapon station (protected by a net
or steel cage overhead); partially open rear deack with netting; two weapon
stations on the sides, and a forward station slightly higher than the head,
allowing a total of 16 ballistas, plus room for crew to use spells/ranged
weapons. This seems far more likely for a heavy battleship.
