actually, so long as you cite your sources and keep it accurate, you can directly quote from the products. To not quote your sources, and copy from someone even has it's own verb. It's called "plagiarism." 1. To use and pass off (the ideas or writings of another) as one's own. 2. To appropriate for use as one's own passages or ideas from (another). By citing your sources, you are definitely NOT plagiarizing. If you cite too much, i.e. copying pages and pages from the book, and then distributing it, you could violate the copyright of the book. But it would really have to be a lot of chapters, there would have to be something in it for the copyright holder to want to sue you, and like Leroy says, "you are not quoting enough for it to be a problem." -eric- --- Leroy Van Camp III <malacoda@????????.net> wrote: > On Friday, August 8, 2003, at 03:56 AM, PT wrote: > > > BTW, I'm quoting directly from the above mentioned products here; am I > > violating something or someone? > > You are not quoting enough for it to be a problem. > > > Leroy Van Camp III > malacoda@????????.net > ICQ #20039817 > > There is a time for bingo and there is a time for funerals.
