Very imaginative, and original. I like it. I only have one question, where does the base of the food chain come from? Normal aquatic food chains are ultimately based upon things that are washed in from land or plants and creatures that dwell on the earthen bottom of the stream, lake, or ocean. And you also have plankton, which is not based upon having any land present. I have a spherical water world in my main campaing setting, and I solved this by creating floating seaweed forests and coral reefs, that do not need a sea floor to be ancored in. Life is more abundant around them. There are also sky realms in one of my air worlds and also above my main campaign world where the ecosystem is based upon small flying snakes (variants of the TSR flying snake from Al Quadim) that feed on moisture and breed like mosquitos, and a magical cloud moss that grows inside the clouds and floats. These creations eliminate the need for the ecosystems to have solid earth to exist, but there is still an ecosystem present. >From: "Nancy E (Lea) Hall" <kenalepha@?????.com> >Reply-To: Discussion list for the Spelljammer campaign setting ><SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com> >To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com >Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] Magic to aid farming in space >Date: Fri, 25 Jul 2003 21:19:52 -0700 > >I agree, when you consider the large number of ships >based on terrestrial fish and waterborne mammals it >would seem a logical assumption that Spelljammers have >a liking for fish. >In my campaign, I rolled up a random crystal sphere to >base the couple of areas that I wanted to adventure >in, and ended up with a water belt called the Zharre >Belt as the 8th world.
