1000-1700, but there are some decent rules of thumb concerning populations.  Early
medieval has an urban base from 5-10%, renaissance up to about 20%, and early
modern to 50%.  Bral is definitely not in the latter category.  Rice cultures can
easily fit into the center category, though population density actually grows
because of the small farms.  Early medieval farms run about 5 acres, while
later period farms can be upwards of 15 acres handled by a single laborer, but
for most of this era we can say a man farms about 5 acres, especially without
the services of a horse or ox.  I dont remember the formula for the surface area
of a sphere offhand, but if Bral is somewhat crowded then its arable land is
insignificant...and that was an excellent point about the fertilizer...I hadnt
thought of that, but it would definitely be imported in large amounts or
crops would soon not grow.  Plant Growth increases yield by 33%...I dont see how
Bral can feed itself without severe imports.  The numbers dont jive.
