Also remember that fine spirits can usually be sold at premium prices. Essentially they are processed grains and fruits, but a small investment in good stock and a mage with Metamorphose Liquids can create some very potent liquor at extremely low costs. I am currently doing conversions to figure out how much of the spirits can be produced, with the figure of 1 cubic foot per mage level, a 7th level mage will produce more than 50 gallons at one casting A conversion chart can be found on the web at http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/EASYvolume.html and will allow you to convert square feet into gallons or liters. Cold storage can be produced by wall of Ice spells. depending on the length of voyage, the melt off can be consumed as drinking water (properly purified of course) and freshly slaughtered meat can be preserved in this manner. If the mage who cast the spell in the first place is along, they can renew the spell regularly. (Also wall of Ice is one of those helpful spells with blocking ballista and catapult shots.) Wood can be lashed together to create rafts and towed behind the spelljamming ship up to the maximum capacity of the Helm and allows an extended air envelope. Cast off rafts are wonderful missiles which can do a lot of damage if delivered at speed by a maneueverable ship. Just my 2 cents. Lea --- "Rian A.
