How about the Waterjammer Helm generates not an air enveloppe but an
enveloppe of watery air (2nd E Spell). This air is breathable by both
water creatures as air creatures. Since this is an sort of air atmosphere
it does not contribute to the mass and slow things down when they are
fires through the area's, so the firing of a catapult is still possible.
If you fill it with water you can only use ballista's, since catapults and
jettisons (consisting of a battery of small catapults) will not work due
to the slowing of the "arm" by the water.
The use of Greek Fire projectors and Bombard are right out because of
obvious reasons.
With kind regards

Subject: [SPELLJAMMER] Waterjammers
Classification:
Hello All
I have a question regarding one of my ideas. I have
been using waterjammer ships in my spelljammer
campaign. They are spelljammers, but they are
surrounded by liquid instead of an air envelope.
My question is about the ships and their tonnage.
Would the liquid envelope affect (added to) the rated
tonnage of the waterjammer ships?
If it would affect the ship's tonnage, then what
percentage of the tonnage would be the liquid? 50%?
75%?
If a spelljammer ship rams a waterjammer ship, will
the liquid envelope hold even when pierced?
If a waterjammer ship rams a spelljammer ship?
Will the liquid envelope affect the gravity plane?
Some examples of waterjammer ships:
1) Open wooden framework and decking, 2 levels, weave
seaweed wall on some areas, seaweed netting holding
cargo, shell throne (mother of pearl major helm), salt
water envelope with sea creatures swimming, Sea elves.
2) Enclosed ship (a submarine, think Captain
Nemo)surrounded by a yellow liquid envelope (poison?).
3) Small closed shuttle (ceramic, clam ship)
surrounded by fresh water, Aboleth?.
4) Old galleon, coral encrusted, salt water envelope
with sea creatures, Sahuagin.
Thanks in advance.
