Heya,

In our last episode, Flits3 Frietmuts said:
>Groundling Neogi. Yuck. What's next? Chess-playing brain molds??????

        Oh! You guessed! ;)

And here they are:
Mold, Brain
Small Ooze
Hit Dice: 1d10 ( 5 hp)
Initiative: -5 (-5 Dex )
Speed: 5 ft.
AC: 8 (+1 Size -5 Dex +2 Natural ), Touch 6
Attacks: Psychic Jab -3
Damage: Psychic Jab 1 hp
Face/Reach: 1 ft. x 1 ft./0 ft.
Special Attacks: None
Special Qualities: Brain Tissue
Saves: Fortitude +0 , Reflex -5 , Will -4
Abilities: Str 2 , Dex 0 , Con 10 , Int 4 , Wis 2 , Cha 3
Skills: None
Feats: None
Organization: Colony (10-100)
Challenge Rating: 1
Treasure: None
Alignment: Always Neutral
Advancement: None

These grey-pink colored mold colonies are jealously guarded and harvested
by the Illithids. The very substance of the molds resemble the brain
tissue of sentient creatures. Thus these molds are capable of sustaining
the Illithids on long journeys, where they cannot take the normal amount
of slaves to feed upon.
The Brain Mold is harvested and grown in subterranean fields where there
is no danger of sunlight, which scrable the reproductive capabilities of
the brain mold. The mold feeds upon corpses of sentient creatures (no
shortage of those in the Illithid Society).
Combat: The brain mold may react to hostilities with a fine-tuned psychic jab.
The attack deals 1 hp of psychic force. Illithids are psychic creatures
and quite immune to this puny psychic attack, as are all psychic endowed
creatures and characters. In short every creature with PSP's is immune to
the attack.
Brain Tissue (Ex): A single brain mold is capable of sustaining the Illithids for a period
of 1 week, in which the Illithid has no need to feed upon any other
sentient creature.
In the Spheres: Highly harvested and grown in Illithid society.

>But it is nice to see that sphere worked out. I had the description of
>Talerra downloaded a few years back from teh web somewhere and didn't
know
>you were the illustrious creator of Cloudspace.

Yup, that's me. My little piece of the universe.
I think I will use this in my new 2 campaigns. I'll let you know what they
did....

>I like the Dust Bunnies. The apes... well... not too special but I really
>like the Bunnies. And now for nagging time.... Listen +3, Spot +5 (Both
>related to wisdom (Wis 8/-1). I came to 6 + IntMod + 1/EHD = 6 -5
>+1 = 2.....
>Listen 1 Rank -1 WisMod = 0 Skill Check
>Spot 1 Rank -1 WisMod = 0 Skill Check

Beasts get 10-15 skill points total. (The old "How To Create A
Monster" article has a typo.) I chose 10 (dust bunnies arn't the
brightest
creatures), and gave 'em Listen 4 -1(wis) and Spot 6 -1(wis).
I used the PDF file from Beyond the Moons.... and read for the skills:
Abberation: Skill Points ........................2 x Int score (+2/extra Hit Die)
Animal Skill Points ........................10-15
Beast: Skill Points ........................2 x Int score (+1/extra Hit
Die)
Construct: Skill Points ........................None
Dragon: Skill Points ........................6/HD (Int modifier applies per Hit
Die)
Elemental: Skill Points ........................2 x Int score (+2/extra Hit Die)
Fey: Skill Points ........................3 x Int score (+2/extra Hit Die)
Giant: Skill Points ........................6 + Int modifier (+1/extra Hit Die)
Humanoid: Skill Points ........................6 + Int modifier (+1/extra Hit Die)
Magical Beast: Skill Points ........................2 x Int score (+1/extra Hit Die)
Monstrous Humanoid: Skill Points ........................2 x Int Score (+2/extra Hit Die)
Ooze: Skill Points ........................None
Outsider: Skill Points ........................8/HD (Int modifier applies per Hit
Die)
Plant: Skill Points ........................None
Shapeshifter: Skill Points ........................2 x Int score (+1/extra Hit Die)
Undead: Skill Points ........................3 x Int score (+2/extra Hit Die)
Vermin: Skill Points ........................10-12

So a beast with 1 HD would have 2 times intelligence +1 per EHD.... 2 * 1
+ 0 = 2 Skill Points. If the article had typo's I would suggest you upload
the correct version.... the elder version I had was the same so I cannot
see any differences. Just to make sure we use the same system here Static,
not to rain on your parade :D. Since I want to make correct contributions
to the community.

>Or am I again in Skill Horror Land????????

Yes, you are. This is why I have yet to create really
big/powerful
creatures. :)

But you cannot throw always gamamroids and Nay-Churr at the players.
Sometimes they want to actually use the Cleave feat... and against
Murderoids and Gammaroids.... well..... ***shrug***

        Thanks for the comments!

Welcome ***smiles***
