I WAS BORED AGAIN! Can ya tell? ............. Once upon a helm on late shift, I sat and pondered, let my mind drift. Over the life that was before. The day we met, well I remember, Twas in the month now known as jammer. The palace's breath stolen, as she walked through the door. All gasped, even elves, at her beauty, Though the dwarves more at her golden booty. Her jewels brighter than light reflected off the floor. Quoth the Wizshade, "evermore". Diaphonous gown flowing free behind her, Fine cut, flesh clear upon her shoulder. Neck bare to the breeze blown by the closing door. I caught her gaze, far across the room, While dignitaries bowed and swooned. Trying to impress with their feeble knowledge of forgotten lore. Her ears haught none though, Through the crowd a path she clove. Stopping but a bolts length from me, ignoring the bores. She bowed to me with a dainty curtsy, While her eyes betrayed and caught mine flirty. It felt like dangling over a chasms deep maw. Quoth the wizshade, "evermore". Voice like honeyed wine she greeted me kindly, I stammered, fidgeted, then answered finally. Words flowed from my mouth like hull-ice heated to thaw. She laughed, the beauty, at my seeming trance, As bumbling i asked her with me to dance. Taking my arm we moved out, to the starings mens awe. For hours we danced, our skin like fire, 'til we left the crowded palace, for pleasures much higher. All night we made love, 'til crashing on dawn's shore. Quoth the wizshade, "evermore". We travelled alone, for many blissful years, Upon my damselfly, the Maiden's Tears. Until apart one day we were bruttally tore. While I slept and she sat, perched sweet on the helm, Illithids attacked, she was quickly overwhelmed. Unable to react, mind melted by all four. Not a scream escaped her, so on I slept unknowing, Their hideous tentacles enwrapping and dining. And they left, not looking for any more. I woke hours later, Knowing immediately there'd been danger, As wildspace drifted past in no steady course. Quoth the wizshade, "evermore". And so I found her, brains a splattered, Vowed my vengeance and a daemon summoned. His help I'd need to spill their ichor. Now wildspace passes by so slowly, My vigil on the helm deathly lonely. As a lich I can spelljam on no more. But I had my revenge on them, and hundreds of their kin, The power granted condemning me, the price of such sin. Both our souls bound to this ship, mine then, hers afore. Quoth her wizshade, "evermore". Tilaurin. "Dying swans/twisted wings, Bring this savage back home." Brave New World - Iron Maiden
