Though this is a useful way to quickly tell players in your
campaign what a ship is, I don't think it's useful as anything
"official". The reason is that most campaigns tend to have lots
of local flavor, which a general coding system can't support. And
the most of the codes you provide are useless to people not you your
campaign. (Especially when you refer to the elven Imperial Navy as
"Imperial Elven Navy". ;) )
I prefer to simply write out the ship's "type". For example, names
like "Free Trader _Beowulf_", "Talerran Wildspace Fleet" or "Krynnish
Homeguard Warship _Favored of Paladine_" tell you 90% of what you need to
know -- all without having to lookup any codes. The rest is too varied
and campaign-specific to worry about. :)
