As people have mentioned, Dark Sun was a topic that often
lead to trouble. Alignment was another. Beyond that and
some 3e stuff, I don't recall anything that was known to
be a problem with any real regularity.

I don't ban topics on a general basis. I put a stop to
troublesome threads. When something has been known  to
lead to trouble, I watch the thread, but I don't tend to step in
until signs of a problem come out.
