'Professional' game designers wrote all of TSR's products. How many
of them were truly, truly, awful? In the old days (pre-3e) the
'amateur' written adventures in Dungeon blew away the 'professional'
written TSR adventures (like the Marco Volo series, for example).
Today, of course, no fan adventures get into Dungeon (or so I
understand, I dropped my subscription when 3e came out.)

My point is 'professional' game designers have no particular skill.
It's not a 'profession', really. Some are good, many are not. Shadows
of the Spider Moon is not good, plain and simple.

Whatever we may think, Beyond the Moons is Static's site, and it's
purpose is his. No one else even comes close to the amount fo work
Static does to keep that site alive. Heck, I'd even suggest that
without Static, the individual, Spelljammer would be dying a pretty
quick death.
