When doesn't this topic degenerate into flame wars, Leroy?  I don't recall a
single such thread that didn't become a series of flames, insults, personal
attacks, and irritated list ogres.  I do recall you having to outright
prohibit the topic at least once.  I also recall a general consensus on the
list to leave the topic be as it was so disruptive to the list; this was the
gentlegamer's agreement I mentioned.  Whether or not you yourself said
anything, I do not remember.  I seem to remember it being adopted at your
suggestion and request, but this is may not be accurate.

Am I overreacting to the reappearance of the topic?  Perhaps.  In my defense
I can only cite my experiences as a member of the list.  I don't recall any
discussion on this topic ever being handled well by the partisans of either
side, and I fully admit that I'm as guilty as any.

If you really want to have this discussion, that is, of course, up to you.
In many ways it certainly is an appropriate topic.  I only ask that you
recall that however innocent the initial question, the final answer has
always been an order to end the thread.  From you.
