This was very helpful for me. One of my more important NPCs (named Capt.
Gith (cause he is a Gith) has a varied humanoid crew and there are
several of them. This will help me calculate how much he charges per
voyage. Thanks a lot!

In relatively safe seas (well patroled trade routes), 2 silver per day per
sailor. For more dangerous voyages, 3 silver (or more) per sailor per day.
Sailors usually sign on for a set amount for a given voyage with the wage
offered based on the expected danger and duration of the trip. If trouble
arises that delays the ship, the crew doesn't get paid any more. If the
ship arrives earlier than expected because of favorable conditions, the crew
isn't paid any less. Setting sail for unknown territory to explore is
treated as a very dangerous route because there is no telling what may be
"out there". When a ship sets sail without an expected destination, the
crew is usually hired for a weekly wage (which is held for them by the
paymaster until a port is reached). Hiring a boatswain to handle the crew
and keep track of their wages is equivalent to hiring a clerk (2 sp more
than a normal crewman).

"Safe", Well patrolled and established routes: 2sp per day.
Dangerous seas: 3 sp per day.
Very Dangerous or unknown seas: 5 sp per day.

That help?

Brian
