Does anyone remember the old Sega Game, Phantasy Star? It had all that stuff
about swords & blasters united, including voyages into space. The Fourth one
of the series even planned exploration of about five planets. Many a gamer
here tryed to adapt the thing, the problem was: Why Wrens blaster would do
the same damage as another heros Sword?

As for the Sci-Fi in SJ games, the easiest way to use it and not bother with
consequences in the universe of SJ is the aproach of Blackmoor: only within
a given sphere does techno artifacts function. In OD&D Hollow World the
elves knew their weapons and flying discs stopped working right at the
border of their domain.
