It's quite a bit different than Barrier Peaks.  Barrier Peaks was, for all
intents and purposes, a standard dungeon crawl with some scifi flavor text
and powerful but charged magic items (the tech), and (IIRC) was written by
Gygax, with all that implies.  Once explored, canny PCs may well decide that
the ship will be ideal as a near-impregnable fortress.  The more enterprising
ones will try to figure out how to make the thing fly.

Tale of the Comet involves a full plot line, crashed ship, alien craft, and
(eventually) a cross over into the sci-fi universe.  The immediate adventure
over, the PCs can continue their adventures in sci fi or go back home.
