I am using Carrara Studio 2, which is a mid-to-high end professional
modelling suite. Web 3-D is fine if you are just going to view simple models
on the web, but these ships are going to be usable in any modelling and
rendering program for people to make their own images with. Also, if uses
with Carrara, the textures are going to be high-quality realistic materials.
I do not know if Carrara's texture mapping can be exported with the model to
other programs like Lightwave or Bryce, so that's another thing I'll be
learning.

It would be really nice if you could export them in a fashion that would be
usable by Neverwinter Nights. Do you think that's possible?

Rule #85.
I will not use any plan in which the final step is horribly complicated, e.g. "Align
the 12 Stones of Power on the sacred altar then activate the medallion at the
moment of total eclipse." Instead it will be more along the lines of "Push the
button."
