There are two main issues to this discussion, Thatotherguy: - We are not taking ourselves too seriously. Arguing about a diference of 1 spell level? Now i realize how pointless this is. For... - ... the true question here is style. Your campaign seens to present Spelljamming more strongly, ships are everywhere and the focus of the campaign is in spacefaring nations and not those backwater planets as Oerth or Krynn (at least like TSR showed them in relation to SJ, anyway). With that in mind, 3rd level is reasonable, i agree. But on my game i prefer a more "spelljamming is rare" approach, which puts a SJ planet nation with four or five ships at best! That way, the Elven Imperial Navy, for example, sees groundling nations as poor primitives, and with its navy of tens of ships (like in Greyspace) they truly are the force who saved the universe in the past. I like the idea of Spacefaring Gods having space as their natural and special place, so only Celestian, Ptah and a handful of others would give spells who made spelljamming available (thats the cause for the Major Acess issue). Neither style is right or wrong. They are only different. I believe that's it.
