The mercurial slime is encountered in colonies that are no closer together 
than 30 ft. As such only one mercurial slime may attack a ship at a time.
Mercurial Slime ha no sensory organs and therefor cannot communicate. It 
detects others by disturbances in the air. 
Combat: Mercurial slime is pervaded with a strong acid that works just like blood 
does for humans. It may be excreted so that it may dissolve nutrients and 
carry these to the individual cells of the organism. If the acid contacts 
living tissue it dissolves the skin dealing 5d10 damage in the process. 
Cold Immunity (Ex): The Mercurial Slime is immune to cold and freezing effects. 
Destroy Metal Object (Su): A Mercurial Slime that succesfully deals damage with it's corrosive touch 
attack to a creature wearing metal objects (such as armor or weapons) may 
destroy such objects in the attack. The opponent must make a Reflex Save 
(DC = 15) against the acid attack of have the most prominently metal 
object destroyed. The victim may add any magical bonusses of the items to 
the saving throw to withstand the destruction. 
Electricity Immunity (Su): The Mercurial Slime is immune to electricity and lightning effects. 
Fire Immunity (Ex): The Mercurial Slime is immune to fire and heat effects. 
Spell-Like Abilities (Ma): At will - Hypnotic Pattern. 
These abilities are as the spells as cast by a 4th level Sorceror (DC = 15 
+ spell level) 
Spell Immunity (Su): The Mercurial Slime is immune to spells that
control nature such as - Charm Plant, Charm Animal, Control Plants.
Skills: Because the skin of the Mercurial Slime reflects the surrounding stars it 
gets a +8 bonus on Hide checks.

NICE!

Also, we could have both, or even more - I always thought it odd that 
there
was but a single rust monster species... seems a logical sort of "ecology"
in a magical world. Maybe a "Cometslime" as well - a glowing variant of 
the
pudding to whizz into ships and gobble them up after covering them in
glowing snot or something? ;-)
