No, probably not. Illithids are not that common. They're in space in great
abundance, but people are generally as hostile to them as they are to Neogi.
Even if they are experienced 'jammers, the PCs probably haven't met or dealt
with enough illithids to tell the difference.

Earth. Flying ships powered by the brains of magicians. These things, they
do not mix in the kind of games I play. There are a number of people who
probably would play-the Earth system is used in the books sometimes (as an
example).

Not that I haven't played a few systems where high technology and magic
mix-White Wolf does that alot, Shadowrun is based on that...I just don't
believe in having my cake with ketchup.
