Yep, saw that last night. Here's a summary of what I've learned today:
* About 100 people were let go. This cut WotC's staff to 250, from a high
of 750 2-3 years ago.
* The staff that remains is comprised of: Chris Perkins, Bruce Cordell, Dave
Noonan, Andy Collins, Ed Stark, Rich Baker, Charles Ryan, Michele Carter,
Gwen Kestrel, Kim Mohan and James Wyatt.
* The 'Spine Design Team' (who were in charge of the layout and appearance
of books) has been 'gutted like a fish'. Probably only the (former) VP and
2-3 artists are left.
* Jonathan Tweet remains at Wizards, but has almost nothing to do with the
D&D division.
* The Star Wars line will from now on be written solely by freelancers.
* Wizard's boards have been down since the announcement. Poorly timed
updated, it seems.
* A lot of managers are being moved around & demoted.
* Bastion Press has been ordered to halt all scanning for the ESD program.
The project has been put on hold, and might even be dumped.
* The list of designers that were let go are: Skip Williams, Penny Williams,
JD Wiker, Jeff Grubb, and Stan Brown. I know I'm missing somebody.
All in all, might as well stick a fork in WotC, they're done.
