the Tiger (21)
Talents: Grace Under Pressure, Less Sleep
Flaws: Enmity toward Monster (Orcs)
Equipment of Note: Potion of Clairaudience, Splint Mail +1, Ring of Hefty Healing, Longsword +2
His story: Decapteno is a nobleman that hails from the elven world of
Greela. For decades he dwelled in the quiet forests of his asteroid
home, observing every elven custom, learned politics at court, and made
many social acquaintances. After about a century of this, Decapteno
realized how utterly bored he was. Court failed to hold his interest,
and he grew to view his forested asteroid home as a prison. He started
hanging out with the dregs of Greela, drinking and raising hell. One
morning, after a night of drinking too much dwarven ale, Decapteno woke
up aboard the Hand of Ehlonna, an Elven Imperial Man-O-War. In horror,
he discovered that he joined the Navy!
Years later, Decapteno has come to realize that joining
the Elven Fleet was probably one of the best things to happen to him.
He visited countless ports and explored a dozen worlds. Over the course
of a few decades, he's managed to finally win a captain's post,
something he quite enjoys. His assignment came in large part due to the
Second Unhuman Wars and his courage at the Borka Maneuver. Given his
own command, Decapteno enjoys the thrill of the hunt and the taste of
battle. He is eager to prove himself commanding the Hriw-Galad so he
can get command of a REAL ship, like a Man-O-War.
Due to several battles with orcs and scro, Decapteno has
developed a deep hatred of said creatures. He considers orcs cowardly
and little more than unintelligent animals. Once battle is joined,
Decapteno will not break off a fight against orcs unless he faces
overwhelming odds, such as a Scro Mantis or a dozen scorpionships.
First Officer/Primary Helmsman Astaldorandir
Grey Elf male magic user 4
STR 9/36 +H/+D +0/-1

Equipment of Note: Staff, Spellbook, Potion of Fiery Breath, Potion of Good Smart Thinking
Spells:
1) Armor, Change Self, Hold Portal, Magic Missile, Mend
2) Blur, Detect Invisibility, Invisibility, Web, Wizard Lock
His story: The youngest son of a successful merchant in Celene,
Astaldorandir learned magic in the Triple Spires of Night on an
education paid for by his father. Astaldorandir's father died suddenly,
and it was quickly uncovered that he had racked up massive debts.
Fearing reprisal attacks from the loan-sharks, the family quickly
vanished into the farthest reaches of Flanaess. Astaldorandir joined
the Elven Fleet.
A quiet but friendly elf, Astaldorandir keeps his
secrets to himself. He is terrified of the loan-sharks from Greyhawk,
and rarely leaves the ship when it is in port. He is fast developing
paranoia, and is suspicious of any new crewmen or passengers that the
ship takes on. Nothing makes him happier to put yet another sphere
between him and Greyspace, and he pushed hard for the Hriw-Galad to be
reassigned to Bralspace. His only true friend is his elven wardawg,
Spike.
Sailmaster Angithil
Grey Elf female fighter 3
STR 14/60 +H/+D +1/+2

Skills: Wildspace Sailor Suite (50), Idle Gossip (100), Mingling (24), Round House Groin Kick (78)
Talents: Heat Resistance, Sword Bonus
Flaws: Misguided, Self Absorbed
Equipment of Note: Chain armor, long sword+1, necklace (350 gp value)
Her story: A steel-haired young elf maiden, Angithil is famous for
leaping before she looks. Given to infatuations, she flirted briefly
with trying her hand at magic before turning her attention to learning
the art of sword-play. Her life was 'shattered' by an affair with a
human ranger, who dumped her for a dryad. In her depression, she ended
up joining the Navy.
Angithil has been a constant problem in the Fleet, noted
for getting into fights, flirting with officers, and otherwise making a
nuisance of herself. Finally she was dumped on Captain Decapteno in
hopes he could straighten her out before the Fleet was forced to drum
her out of the service.
Navigator Helkatari
Grey Elf female fighter 2
STR 11/35 +H/+D
DEX 10/49 AC
CON 16/96 HP
INT 10/41 D

(68), Phlogiston Navigation (74), Basic Looting (99), Jugular Swipe
(83), Pugilism (62)
Talents: Cold Resistance, Less Sleep
Flaws: Asthmatic, Lost Left Ear
Equipment of Note: Chain armor, longsword, longbow+1, 20 flight arrows
Her story: Helkatari had a rough upbringing. Her home was a tiny elven
enclave in an otherwise human settlement in the Grinder. She was
orphaned at a very young age when plague swept through the city, and was
raised in an orphanage run by the Elven Fleet. Helkatari was
indoctrinated into the Fleet's philosophies as she grew up, and at the
earliest opportunity she signed on. With a talent for reading and
drafting charts, Helkatari eventually became a trusted navigator.
Lacking anything that resembles humor, Helkatari is a
strict, stern woman. She has earned a reputation as the "Ice Queen"
with her fellow crewmen. They tend to avoid her and spread rumors
behind her back. She has no friends aboard ship, and disapproves of
Captain Helkatari's efforts to get her to "lighten up".
Ship's Medic Ranugaladhad
Grey Elf male cleric 3
STR 14/08 +H/+D +1/+2
DEX 13/26 AC 4
CON 9/10 HP 35
INT 10/44 D d6+3
WIS 13/30
CHA 13/24 HON Avg
COM 14/06 AL CG
Skills: First Aide Skill Suite (70), Art of Seduction (31), Eye of the
Tiger (16), Who's Yer Mamma Ankle Wrench (34)
Talents: Speak with Plants
Flaws: Tone Deaf
Equipment of Note: Chain armor+1, footman's mace
His story: This suave grey elf was raised in a remote elven village
where he frequently flittered with dryads. Ranugaladhad ran into
trouble one evening when his girlfriend, the daughter of the village
chief, caught him in a compromising position with a dryad. He was
forced to leave hastily (that night, in fact) and ended up joining the
clergy of The Leaflord. He often hit on the Dryads working with the
clergy of The Leaflord, and eventually offended the wrong dryad with his
attempted charms. She 'arranged' to have him shipped off the first
Spelljammer in port, and thus be rid of him.
As luck would have it, that ship happened to be the
Hriw-Galad. In the three years that Ranugaladhad has been in wildspace,
he has found that life in the Fleet agrees with him. He sees it all as
a grand adventure, a reward from his patron Gwad. Ranugaladhad most
enjoys being in port, when he can impress women with his (greatly
embellished) tales of heroism and war. He has a particular weakness for
dryads, and will hit on them whenever he can. Over the last few years,
Ranugaladhad has learned hundreds of pick-up lines.
