He's right. Conversions are nice and all, and thank you for the effort,
but at the moment I've no real need for them, so I skim them at best.

Another good point. Pirates don't blockade towns--they pillage them.
Privateers might if some commodore or admiral shanghais them into it, but in
general pirates would simply attack

The answer to this one is simple. The town was named by an American who
wanted a French sounding name.
