You have to have an openable container for fire trap. Glyph of warding would not work on an arrow IMC and the 2e spell description seems to imply the same but doesn't say so (it does say it prevents intrusion, so offensive use seems to be out, and how do you intrude on an arrowhead anyway?). > I was trying to come up with an idea for a harpoon that > clamps on to something with a Wizard Lock. Wizard lock requires an openable object also, and one that is already put together. Your harpoon can't open and isn't part of whatever it hits. > It would be interesting if one shot weapons like Javelins of > Piercing or Javelins of Lightning were fairly common in > some areas, because of high quality materials that allow > larger batch production of one shot magic items. It's the enchanting that's the problem, not the materials (though in some areas both will be problems). > And there are always means of focusing Continual Light spells > for signalling or dazzling, or put on a ballista bolt to fire into > an enemy ship so as to track it more easily. The latter tactic has been posted several times by me. It's a pretty good one. Dazzling wouldn't work by the spell description, however. Continual light has a set area of effect, regardless of what's around it, the magic can only illuminate to a certain range. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
