Command (+15) Admiral

Requirements:

Base Attack Bonus: +6

Skills: Balance (2), Knowledge - Tactics (2), Profession - Spacehand (4),
Knowledge - Space (2), Knowledge - Ship Recognition (2)

Feats: Cannon or Ballistae Specialist, Leadership, Combat Reflexes

Special: Training of 12 months, reduced one month by character
level to a minimum of one.

Every ship has at least one officer - not necessarily members of this
prestige class, but militaries everywhere are known for training officers
more than the average marine.

Abilities:

Command: At level 1 and every fifth officer level thereafter, the
character adds a +5 bonus to his leadership score. This is not including
the normal +1/level bonus.

Special Training: The character can train a number of crewmen
equal to his leadership score in a special type of mission. When the
officer leads them into the mission, he gives them a +2
circumstance/inherent bonus to whatever rolls are listed. The table below
shows the various missions and their relevant skills etc, but DM's are
encouraged to make up their own. Once an officer has reached level 7 he can
select another mission type to gain this ability in - although it must be
different from that chosen at level 2.

            Mission Skills/Abilities affected

Attack Initiative; attack bonuses; all saving
throws

Infiltration Sneak attack bonuses; hide, move silently, disguise,
and climb skills.

Repair Craft, Disable Device, Intuit Direction, and Search
skills

Defend Armour Class; Heal and Spot skills; Reflex Saves

Ship Battle (selectable only at level 7) Initiative; Pilot and
Profession - Spacehand skills. The officer must be in contact with all
other ships affected, and each other character under him can take care of
one ship. The contact may be magical, psionic, innate, or even by
signal/semaphore - but without the Officer directing the others (and thus
ordering their basic actions) the bonus is lost. This bonus affects the
entire ship and its crew, but only for tactical combat - not individual
melee.

Should any one character affected by the officer's training be dead, or in
reference to ship combat unreachable, the others still get their bonus.

Morale: At third, sixth, and ninth level, the officer inspires a
(non-cumulative with other officers) +2 confidance bonus to morale. It does
not wane if he dies, or is out of sight, merely as long as his plan/actions
can be taken. This bonus is cumulative with its predecessors.

Bonus Feat: The bonus feat bestowed may be of any the character
has access to.

Rank: Rank displayed on the table above is NOT bestowed, or required - it
is merely a typical rank for officers of this level.

Class Skills: Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Jump
(Str), Profession - Spacehand (Wis), Search (Int), Spot (Wis), Knowledge -
Ship Recognition (Int), Knowledge - Space (Int), Knowledge - Tactics (Int)

Skill Points = 4 + int modifier/level

Alignment: Any non-chaotic

Hitdice: 1d10

Weapons and Armour: All martial and simple weapons, All armours
and shields

Shipboard Roles: Officer

SotSM notes: As stated above, many races have officers in their
ranks, excepting the illtihids, who just mind blast anyone that doesn't obey
an order, and the drow - who typically sacrifice insubordinates to Lloth.

Equipment: No typical gear, but most Officers enjoy higher pay
and can afford pistols, unlike normal crewmen.
