huh?  dunno about Cook, but Williams has been a big D&D stumper for
years, and i really can't see him putting in the time and effort for
Sage Advice unless he loved the game.  and Tweet has said that he has
always been a big fan of D&D and the only reason he started writing
his own RPGs was because he couldn't publish D&D stuff.

mind you, i can't stand 3E, but it's precisely because they took many
of the roots of D&D to their logical extreme (the gamism, for
starters), in many ways bringing it back to where it was heading with
the transition from D&D to AD&D.  it's just that that's almost an
about-face from the direction they had started to move with AD&D2,
which was starting to become a game i liked.
