That makes sense. Still seems like just a bit too much bookkeeping though (having to keep track of fire absorbed and then fire damage). I'd make it a bit simpler by either having the creature crystalize after absorbing 64 points, or after absorbing points equal to its hit points, and not treat it as damage. But hey, I'm the type of guy that always screws up in keeping track of a troll's hit points, so I like simple systems. :) Sebastian >From: Mark Doolan <markdoolan@?????????????????.com> >Reply-To: Discussion list for the Spelljammer campaign setting ><SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com> >To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com >Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] Q'nidar --> A vexing issue of immunity >Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 13:45:14 -0700 > >I choose 64 for two reasons, one it was divisible by 8... the amount of >hours before it fully digest the energy, and second in the original it >stopped after absorbing 5 to 6 hull points (in 2nd edition each hull point >equals 10 hit points)... as such I figure that equals about 50 to 60 hit >points with the q'nidar wanting to feed before it has fully consumed its >energy. so 64 was close to the mark of 60 and was divisible by 8. > >Hope that was clear enough, if not *shug* I will have to ask my friend to >find a better way to word it. > >Mark T.
