Doesn't mean the blunder won't drag the whole company down. The
margin of error is less now, because they are a division of Hasbro.
Hasbro is a large conglomerate with no interest in gaming for
gaming's sake. If WotC loses money, or even doesn't make _enough_
money, they will just close the division down.

Of course, Hasbro made the original blunder in buying WotC. Steve A
threw one over on them, and they _really_ should have known better.
They bought WotC _after_ the peak of the Pokemon craze, the fools. :)

Now, I don't believe the name will disappear, but can we really say
WotC is still alive if it is reduced to being a holding company for
licenses Hasbro rents to other companies, _perhaps_ while still
printing 3e PHBs and DMGs? If they produce no new product, does it
_matter_ if a few sorry folks are still there getting a paycheck and
manage those licenses?

Not me, I don't believe in conspiracies. They'd have to be made up of
humans and humans _always_ talk. :)
