OK, I have to ask: Why would anyone sit around and worry
about staying true to "3e canon?" 3e, more than any previous
version (in my opinion), is modelled as a toolbox. The
new Manual of the Planes goes into some detail about
creating you own cosmology.
Is there really anyone here who has switched to 3e who
plans to truly alter their current cosmology in order to
fit with the cosmology presented in the new Manual of the
Planes? Is anyone going to now say that ships in their game
can no longer travel from Realmspace to Greyspace because
the "official FAQ" says they can't? Are you, Afterburner,
going to make this change?
I am not trying to be a jerk here (though it may seem that
way ). I just don't really understand what the problem is.
The new MotP presents an example of a cosmology. SJ is it's
own setting, even if it does encompass other settings. I don't
see a reason why it cannot have it's own cosmology.
Heck, in my SJ games I use my own simplified custom cosmology.
When I play FR or PS, I almost always have SJ in there
somewhere, but when I am play an SJ campaign, neither FR nor
PS are used.
Either way, I think canon is overrated.
