<<<<Hardly. What magic item lets you fly a ship at the speeds given
for a
spelljammer? Hell, a flying ship alone would be 100k+, and that's
without the ability to fly in wildspace.>>>>

I take it that Helms are rare in your SJ campaign. If that is the case then
I can see your point. However if there are lot of ships using helms in a
campaign then it makes no since that the helms are as expensive as the old
SJ says they were.

<<<<I don't disagree with that, but there are better ways around
that
without cheaping helms.>>>>

Like what?

<<<<But 3e has a designated system for determining the costs of a
magic
item. They chose to ignore this system, it seems. For example, brooms
& carpets of flying have the exact same creation process (craft
wonderous item, fly, permanency), but have different weight limits and
thus different prices. A large carpet of flying costs more, but moves
less mass slower. Has the rules from the DMG been thrown out?>>>

You do have a point here but the Helms are no ordnary magic item, in fact
they seem to be mass produced givin the number of ships out there that have
them by the Arcane. So perhaps the Arcane has come up with a method of mass
producing certain magic items.
So if say the humans or other spacefaring nations made there own Helms then
your prices would make since, but of coarse there would not be that many
helms out there.

<<<So my question is, can I enchant an item that will move Bral
across
Toril's surface and only cost 100,000 gp? I want to be able to be able
to crush cities by simply landing on them ;D>>>>

Perhaps if you get the Arcane to make one for you.
