ummm...this is news to you?  i swore off buying anything WotC the day
they dropped Roleplaying Reviews from Dragon.  IMHO, they've never
cared about the fans, only the consumers (it's just that the two
priorities often coincide)--they're a business, after all, and that's
how businesses operate in a capitalist free-market economy.

so, how many 3E books have you bought?  if you *really* want to send
them a message about business practices, not just product quality,
you have to not only vote with your dollars, and quit buying their
stuff--yes, that means the good stuff, too--but also write them a
letter, and let them know precisely *why* you're not giving them your
money.  otherwise, they probably won't notice that you're not buying
(they get a lot of money from other people) and, if they do, they may
completely misinterpret what is wrong.
