3 or 4 of the episodes are some of the best scifi ever to hit TV.
sadly, most of the rest are schlock.

loved everything but Worf and the war with the Klingons.

some really interesting things with plotting. except for the episode
that TNT wrote, it rocked. i think that, had it been allowed to
continue, and had it continued to improve at the rate it was the last
6-7 episodes, it would've been better than any other scifi ever on TV
(B5 included).

>4. Starship Andromeda
so-so.

>5. Earth: Final Conflict
nope.

>6. Dragonstar
based on the first book, no. but, then, the first book isn't a
setting book, it's a rules book. i *might* be interested once i see
more of the setting. then again, i doubt it, because it pretty much
seems like the 'Realms writ large, and i've never cared for Forgotten
Realms. for me, there's about a dozen pages of usable content in the
whole book (the glossy pages at the front, and the stuff on the new
PC races--maybe one or two other things that i didn't notice when
skimming it). and, sadly, i don't like several elements of their
basic premise (same races as standard D&D; mixing D&D-style
fire-and-forget magic with Star-Trek-style high tech; for starters),
so i doubt all the detail in the world could win me over. i guess
i'm not seeing how Dragonstar is any more compelling than the Star
Wars universe, or Dune, or WH40K, or even Fading Suns. SJ is *way*
more original as a space setting.

>7. Battlestar Galatica
generally liked it.

>Let's see, did I miss any?

craploads. but i'll stick to ones that i think are relevant for
fantasy in space (SJ, Dragonstar, or both). Blake's 7, Farscape, and
Earth 2, off the top of my head. Dr. Who is isn't really relevant to
SJ *or* Dragonstar, but then, IMHO, neither is Earth: Final Conflict,
really. also Secret Adventures of Jules Verne.

If any religion is right, maybe they all have to be right. Maybe God
doesn't care how you say your prayers, just as long as you say them.
