Yes it is a serious question. I never liked the 100 ton rule and I know that others on this list have had ships in there campaigns that are above 100 tons. I don't see 500 tons as being a "impossibly crazy amount" and with ship critical hits it is possable to cripple a large ship like this. You just have to keep in mind that the bigger the ship the more expensive. So the nation building these ships may not have the funds to make a fleet of 500 ton ships. Hell they may not have the funds for many 100 ton ships. Also because they are not very manuverable (and large) they are suseptable to smaller (faster) ship attacks. They would make a great target for fighter attacks escpecially if the fighters had some fire based attacks. -----Original Message----- From: Thatotherguy [mailto:spellj@??????????.com] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 12:32 PM To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] New helm being Submitted to Compendium --- "Downer, Chris" <Chris.Downer@?????????.com> wrote: > Why Drop the tonnage to 100? Is the above a serious question or should there be a ;) after it? Because now you can move dwarven citadels with it. Because now you can move leviathans with it. Because you can make massive, heavily armed, maximumally armored dreadnoughts with it that are immune to anything but ramming each other. Because it violates the max 100 ton rule by an impossibly crazy amount. Because why have it in the first place? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
