        Not really.  The NPC generator, at least, doesn't give a whole lot of
magic items except for scrolls & potions to wizards.  And I've seen lots
of people gripe about how little magic the random treasure generator
gives.
        It does standardize magic item creation.  Like everything else in 3e,
it reads almost like a computer program (I swear, if I had to program
for D&D, I'd choose 3e over all the others; it's already half-written as
a computer program;)
