I could see doing that with living ships (at least some living ships,
like the elven ones) but I think I'd still require something for other
ships to attain this.  Maybe some sort of "manasails" (to steal a term
from Tilaurin IIRC) or the like.  It would certainly help account for
the heavy SJ presence in AC.  I definitely think forges that can't
enter the flow and consume magic items are over-priced in an SJ game
where standard helms are, well, standard.

I don't think I'd let you get to the flow without a helm.

How does it translate to tactical movement when pirates or dragons attack?
