I agree with paul mana sail don't sound right star sail or something like
that and i wouldn't go below 1/4 for speed half would be better.

I think some sort of special sail is th better route. I don't really
like the name manasails, but it would accomplish the basic idea. Of
course, making it impossible for 'sail' powered vessels to land would
also help explain SJs relative lack of influence on large worlds like
Toril, and help explain the need for asteroid ports and space
stations.

I also like the idea of sailed vessels being slower then helmed
vessels, though perhaps 100 times as slow isn't  a good idea. maybe
half speed...
