I don't see why. Vermin are supposed to be mindless. Beasts include things
like ankhegs and those are definitely insectoid, so just because something
is an invertebrate it doesn't mean that they're vermin. Come to think of
it, IIRC thri-kreen are classified as monstrous humanoids - yet another bug
thing that isn't vermin.
