The origin of crystal sheres is tied to gods? When did this happen? Last I
remember, there was no officially endorsed origin theory...There's no reason
Athas wouldn't have a crystal sphere, and it's often referred to as closed
or unreachable in the published books. Following this theory, any sphere
without intelligent life or whose dominant life forms died out somehow would
disappear, leaving the planets/central fire body to the indelicate mercies
of the phlogiston, and creating one [insert expletive indicating an
unpleasant afterlife here] of an explosion.

!

Anyway. The main thing about gods and spelljamming is that gods need at
least 200 followers in a sphere for their priests to gain spells above third
level, if I recall. I may not be recalling too well, because my little
sister whalloped me in the back of the head with a crab-smashing mallet a
few hours ago...
