Well, considering SJ was given the chop in '91 and Wizards came into its own in '93 (and I think bought TSR in '95 or '96), it can be safely assumed they didn't control TSR during SJ's product run...barring unusual circumstances, like a time machine or two. Er...isn't all canon "setting" canon? The system is very mutable, or there would be no changing to 3e, because that would mean breaking with canon. And a GURPS game could conform to *all* of the "setting" canon with *none* of the "system" canon... Anyway. Yep, canon comes from all the published SJ material and Static's Compendium, those being authorized by TSR/WOTC/HASBRO. Official and canon meaning roughly the same thing, those two are the only sources for official material too. (Canon is just a way to make it sound sacrosanct, like, you know, saints.) ~George Lavalle "I used to take everything seriously.
