I agree with part of what Rian says...However, I don't think that the change to 3e is inevitable; the way Wizards/Hasbro rushed it out has roughly alienated some folks, and they're just not going to switch; it doesn't seem right to leave them out in the cold to me. Also, just because a setting hasn't been described for SJ yet doesn't mean it should be banned from officiality. I wasn't privy to TSR's operations at the time, but I'm pretty sure other settings would have been included eventually. Athas is an extreme example, but if someone wants to write a new setting or attempt to convert an official one, I don't see anything wrong in the attempt. Now, in writing "above the ground" you add things the original author never intended, so we should get permission from them before stamping it official (not before writing it, or there's no point), but writing is alright... Now...We of the list represent nearly all the Spelljammer community. SJ is widely considered a joke, a sham, and many other unpleasant things. We are the members of a dying breed; if a few more sects break off we won't be much of anything. So let's take responsibility, huh? ~George Lavalle "I used to take everything seriously.
