> Maybe it's just because I'm new here, but what does Leroy have against the idea of DarkSun? I for one like both the Darksun and Spelljammer settings and have toyed with opening Darkspace (or Athasspace which ever you want to call it) to my Spelljammer universe. However my fellow DM who runs a Darksun Campaign pointed out that bringing a Darksun Character over into standard DnD would mean having one mightily powerful character that would throw the balance way out of whack. Imagine having a Cleric that did not rely on Divine powers who drew their energy from Fire for example, (these guys are usually immune to fire), imagine how much damage they would do in the Phlow. Then you've also got the fact that Darksun characters are mostly psionic and would kick a standard character's butt anyway, then there's the defiler's and preservers.... etc. All in all Darksun is a much higher powered setting then any of the other (save perhaps Planescape). If you tweaked it to make it less high powered you may as well use the standard Psionics rules and create a sphere with a desert planet and save the hassle. But as people have pointed out its a moot point as if you want to do it there's nothing stopping you and technically I should not be propagating this discussion chain so I'll sign off again and keep reading. Muz (The Silent Reader) PS has anyone had a look at the excel sheet I posted on the web a few weeks ago. with the Ship to Ship combat conversion. Let me know what you think. Its at http://www.geocities.com/fool.geo/Files/scc3.xls Anyway that's my two cents worth, Till next time.
