Well, there have been several attempts by the 3e yahoo group. However,
such efforts have revealed a few things:
If you want to preserve SJ, you're going to have to fudge some/quite a
bit on the 3e rules.
If you want to preserve 3e, you're going to have to fudge a lot on SJ.
Either way, you have to fudge to get something that's playable and
retains the spirit of SJ.
Honestly, in looking at some of the efforts so far, I have to ask
myself, as a fan-writer, "does this system give me something that I want
to write for?". So far, I can honestly say no. I'd rather stick to 2e
for ship-related matters. It doesn't mean I can't be convinced, it's
just that most of the systems are either really complex or the only
thing they have to do with SJ is a fancy name & funky ships.
LordoftheCats is coming close to something that I may be able to
use...:)
