On bathing: Considering the difficulties in getting water in space, a sand-scouring would be easiest. Not necessarily just for lizards. When you're done, you get a little rinse, and you go back to whatever you were doing. That is, unless you have some water-producing item. (Bathtub of Cleanliness?) Remember, air isn't all you have to import, and I'd rather stink than die of thirst any day. And drinking bathwater is not as good an idea as it may sound...(Barring purify water, and I've never had a ship's cleric.) > The more important question I have is: what music instruments, and >style >of music, do you think the various races would enjoy? Most people I've >spoken to tend to think of the elves as preferring woodwind instruments and >perhaps some strings, Yeas, the elven affinity for flutes, lyres, and harps is something commonly used. They always overlook the elven banjo, though. >the dwarves as being into percussion instruments >(drumming and chanting), etc. Bagpipes, drums, accordions, simple stringed instruments...Dwarves would like anything you can drink to. And you can't drink to a drum..."Get that balsted pounding away from me, you daft blaggard..." > I tend to think that the giff would have pretty simple taste in >music, >tending towards drums and probably brass instruments with marches and such >like being their preferred music. I think that would be right on target. >I can see the hadozee and grommams being >into woodwinds and flutes. And there I come to something of a stop. I'm >not a music expert at all, and I'm wondering what the you people think. >Especially on the subject of the insectoid races. I had a semi-crazy >thought of the thri-kreen being into bagpipe style instruments, and I'm not >sure if that works at all.... I'd probably have the thri-kreen play either tinny brass instruments, or mandolin-style many-stringed instruments. That could work pretty well, seeing the over-abundance of limbs. ~George Lavalle A Wax Phantom to destroy us all.
