Subject: Re: Jammers:4 Year Anniversary
OOC:
Okay, _hopefully_ this battle with Milken will end soon:) I promised to
summarize everyone's favorites in a post for us all to enjoy, and here it
is.:)

Hey, a few of you are missing here 'favorites' below... Billy? Dhebun?
Ferric? Guess you guys don't want any XPs?:)

For the Spelljammer list, I'm holding their XP hostage until they send me a
post saying what they enjoyed most. I thought some of you following our
adventures via the fan fiction posts might enjoy this as well.:) If you
want to tell me what your favorite moments have been feel free:)

The first Jammers turn summary was dated Thu, 25 Sep 1997. So we are in our
fourth year. It has been very enjoyable, for the most part:)

I asked everyone to list their favorite scene:)

From: "Alex Corbin" <alexc@??????.com> aka Holland
>Over the past year or altogether?
>
>If over the past year:
>The liberating of the NIGHTWIND/NIGHT PROWLER. While there was not a lot of
>combat involved. There was a lot of good planning, teamwork and
>role-playing. I think the party's best moments are when they are in the
>worst situations, it is then when they shine. The capture actually seemed
>very anticlimatic, I am sure that Elrohir was expecting something a little
>more flashy/explosive. :) I think everyone was expecting more resistance, I
>think that is why everyone was freaking out about the missing gnome witch.
>
>If altogether:
>It is a difficult question, what event do I like the most over the past 4
>years. Instead of an event, I would have to say a theme. A theme of Red
>Mask destruction. :) I think it is good to get the group away from a ship
>every now and then and still have some good action/roleplaying. So far
>there are have been three fights in the Twisted Thumb (you would think the
>Red Masks would be smart and move somewhere else), where the party has gone
>up against the Red Masks. The first wasn't too hot but the second and third
>were pretty spectacular. The party getting in and getting out with no one
>dead or unconscious. That is a testament to teamwork and good dice rolls ;)
>when you look at the early battles of the party. If someone didn't outright
>die, they were getting knocked unconscious, in the negative HPs, etc. The
>party has come a long way. It has been a great ride, hopefully the group
>continues for another 4 years. :) Umm, can I have my experience now? ;)

From: Chris Dunn <allaganb@?????.com> aka Allagan
>I haven't been in the game that long but of what I
>have been involved in, I like the intrigues about
>Bral. The wererats, the fight between the Halflings
>and the Red Masks. The neighborhood block fights.
>The descriptions of the fighting, the politics, makes
>it seem very real, like reading one of the TSR fiction
>books. I found it difficult to believe that the game
>has been going on for so long when I first joined but
>now I can see why. :)

From: Naemlan@???????.com aka Ives
>Favorite scene as a Player: Rat Attack on the Night Wind. Reasons
>why 1) Ives gets to stomp rats, squish, spurlt, squish, spurlt,
>squish 2) Vais enters combat 8) 3) Much, much more succesful than
>our follow up debicable with Bosil, simplicity is nice some times.
>4) Rat ala Lighting. Ah my first battle with Ives, the memories
>giant rats will bring back.
>Favorite Scene Overall: I couldn't decide which scene was the best
>so heres my picks by category
>1) 'Patisms: Personally I have a hoot reading what 'Pate does next.
>When I first started lurking I got a real hoot over the 'Pon my soul'
>routine, which quickly got followed by how 'Pate, smoke powder and
>an enemy ship are a recipie for disaster. Favorite scene though has
>to be 'Pate being a human missle vs the Scro
>2) Best Rp'ing: Its Ferric and Lerra for their sequence on Bral
>during the events that led up to the duel. Very swashbuckling, and
>really added some flavour and zest to the game. That and House
>Cartan is left with mixed feelings about the COSS
>3) Best Combat: Silencing of the Star, and the Revenge; Knocking off
>the scro after loosing the Silient Star, wow that was cool. At that
>point I had figured the company was toast and that either the game
>would end, or new pc's would be coming in. Terrific fight, all in all

From: Brian Hiestand <hiestand.2@???.edu> aka Nilaroo
>The scro fight - lots of ingenuity required, as well as all out fighting.

From: Thom Jones <Seguld@???????.com> aka Seguld
>The capture of the Nightwind.
>Never before has our entire company worked so well together. It was a plan
>that we actually followed, and surprise, surprise we pulled it off without a
>hitch. Of course having the ladies dressed in proper style added a little
>extra to the imagined scenery as well.

From: "Brian Ransom" <blransom@????.com> aka Freneth
>I have to say that the part that sticks in my mind the most (I'm not sure
>exactly why =)) is when Leera picks up Diadan in the steam room, then thier
>following date, just prior to the duel. For some reason, that bit caught my
>attention (maybe I'm just picturing Leera in a sauna =)

From: phoenxcg@?????????.net aka Italapate
>With my character: My favorite moments are the small one on one conversations
>Pate has had with other individuals in the crew. Some of them have been public,
>some of them only between Paul, myself, and the other party. The fun part is
>that Pate is a completely different person when he is with one other person
>or a small party than he is when he is with everyone else.
>My favorite moment that was definately seen by all, was when Pate succinctly
>explained how the party's planning sessions worked. It was the first time Pate
>actually made another PC laugh, which was, like, the whole point behind his
>whole character design! :-) That made me happy (note the emoticon!).
>With the group: I have to admit that the defeat of the Scro after we had our
>ship destroyed was great. And I can only imagine the freedom Pate felt while
>being hurled through space by a very angry minotaur!
>Not involving my character: Heh... probably the moment that didn't happen!
>Deigatt slugging Ferric during a battle! (Nothing against Ferric, Chad!
>Just >the image of two crewmembers fighting while pirates stood around
>scratching >their heads. heh, heh).

From: Adam Miller <nghtdrud@??????.net> aka Raken
>In my opinion, the fight against the scro was certainly the most
>entertaining. The odds were certainly against us, but we managed
>through and laid the smackdown on all of them, despite 3-1 odds and
>the destruction of our ship!:)
>The duel that Ferric fought was another high point in the game. Pate
>is always a hoot, and the arguements between "the female" and "the
>minotaur" are a laugh-riot (though Raken makes sure to say out of
>range of hurled fists & cooking pots:)

From: "Ian Bowley" <bowley@???????.???.au> aka Talus
>My favourite memory is in the battle of the scro with the Star flying apart
>around us. Then we take the viper only to lose it when the helm goes
>critical.
>'Pate also stands out, I can remember in our first battle he crawled under
>the ship then blew in the porthole to the helm room.

From: "Shawn Lewandowski" <slewand1@?????.??.com> aka Kain
>A couple of them:
>The fight where we lost the STAR, of course. Just simply because
>it was so improbable that we would win out.
>The taking of Gantius from the Twisted Thumb. This fight just
>showed the raw power the Company has when in straight
>melee. There was a heck of a lot of carnage there. : )

From: Static <eshum@????????.cx> aka Grigree
>Though I really liked the death of the Silent Star sequence, I'd
>have to say my favorite scenes where those at the Twisted Thumb. Despite
>its later moral ambiguity, they were fun encounters. The Silent Star and
>scro incident still leaves me with a feeling that we should all be dead.

From: SJ Gamer <sjpbemg@?????.com> aka Jax
>I think I like the fluidness of the very first battle
>the most. For those who think swashbuckler feel, this
>had it more than anything else to me (I kept seeing
>the three musketeers and movies like that when I first
>read it in the archives).

From: "Thomas F. Cullen" <cullen@????????.com> aka Leera
>There have been quite a few:
>The most enjoyable ongoing part of the game is undoubtedly Italapate.
>His witticisms, his conversations with Deigatt, and his impersonation of
>a thrown spear....
>I've also enjoyed Leera's friendly spars with Deigatt.
>Leera's date with Diadan had me (if not Leera) scared sh%&less. I though
>she was going to end up dead in an alley. And then I thought Ferric was
>going to end up dead in an alley......
>And I still think it's cool that Leera won her bet with Holland (the
>Olympic contest). ;)
