The distances involved suggest luxury items between spheres--examples from
Earth history include spices, porcelain, ivory, tea, silk and other cloth,
gold, gems, furs, art objects, special woods, silver, incense, weapons,
drugs, and slaves.

In space itself, I see the spelljammers needing basic goods--food (esp.
meat), water, salt, wood, cloth, alcohol.
