I rate the show as pretty average (mainly due to the way too limited
cast; the captain should be loading up on crew by now to replace his
old
one. For example, he should have brought on some of those kids from
that space station and taken aboard reps from the planets allying with
him).

Well, he wants to spread Commonwealth supports out and stuff. I think
the curent cast is great, and atleast ya have a reason to focus on these
guys. I think its apparent that the ship cant be as good militarily now
as it was 300 years ago with an entire crew: no one for targetting abd
boarding and so forth. It runs ok with Rami tho I think... I also like
the idea of having a computer who has a crush on the captain. Characters
usually make or break a show (as well as what writers do with them:
Voyager got good again when they had Seven to spice things up AND good
writers but has slumped off as the quality of writing has gotten pretty
cheezy).

Don't know if there's really much to steal for SJ (more ideas for
a
scifi game, but don't know if I'd actually run an andromeda game).
Guess you could use the nietz's 'big cannon' as inspiration for an
adventure (say orc pirates with a REALLY big Great Bombard on an
asteroid, which is moved by their magic (or an old artifact)). Don't
know if I'd really use the nietzs; they're really nothing more than
humans with spikes on their arms (now that I think about it, I've seen
like humans in Dark Sun artwork...hmmmmmmm....wonder if the director is
a DS fan...;p)

Well, I'm not sure that those spikes are natural.. I thought those just
might be equipment. Anyway, they ARE humans, another subspecies, like
neanderthals (the Andromea site lists them as Homo sapiens invictus or
something). But, I was thinking thier culture is what we should adapt to
SJ. Humans with some plusses to ability scores and the Nietzschean
culture and personalities. Did you see the one where Andromeda went back
in time to one of the last battles of the Commonwealth? I thought that
episode was really good and characterized Tyr a bit.. especially with
his decision. Anyway, I think even a Nietzschean culture could do very
well in SJ. The other thing I'd consider importing would be Trance...
tho I don't entirely know enough about her yet to do that. She certainly
knows ALOT more than she appears to and she has some major secrets about
her.
