>Also, having the main set be free would increase the potential >growth of the SJ fan base. I'm with you on that one. Personally I think that they should have made all of the Boxed Sets and adventures free, then charged for the accessories. Would have mead the most since from a $$ point of view, you hook them, and offer the less useful stuff, then save all the really good and useful stuff for re-sale. >1) Right now few people can download the ESDs. The current >policies restrict the ESDs from many of countries, including >those in Europe. That is a big chunk of people. Now, they may >very well might get things going by the time SK is available, but they >might not. This will stunt the potential growth of the SJ fan base. The 128-bit encryption isn't available in Europe either, and don't forget the lack-o-Mac (support) granted they aren't as large of a chuck as Europe, but their big. The Question would be, is ESD no supported for their lack, or our not letting them. >2) The ESDs cannot be reditributed. With the free stuff, you can >take files, make changes, and then redistribute it. So, people could >take the core set, update it to 3e, and then make it available on their >site. But this won't happen since that is not allowed with the >pay stuff. Its all a matter of Semantics. You can't release the edited version of the pay book, just sheet with all the changes. Doesn't matter for the main boxed set anyways. 95% has to be re-written, so we might as well just remake the entire thing... wonder what their ruling on Artwork is. >So, it is better than nothing, but still not as cool as it could be. Here here. and HEAR US. Maybe some nice WotC exec will read this, and put the boxed set on the free page. Dark Lord B0unty I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve, I have a history of losing my shirt.
