Or, perhaps only one (or if you want to be hard on the PC, two) of the moons are
of the correct "polarity" to cause the change.  Just don't tell anyone in the
party which one (or two) will cause it :-)

That's how "Dor" (Wolf clan Berserker in my own SJ campaign) has been handled.  An
unexpected appearance of multiple moons has caused most of the crew to jump ship
prior to landing once or twice....
