A "thief" is anyone in possession of a certain set of skills. They could use
them to steal, scout, spy, or to assassinate. They could kill for a living,
but then they would generally need to join a different guild.
A thief might not steal at all. Maybe they just had to sneak up on the cows
to milk them when they were younger...
The verb is "thieve" by the way.
