That's always fun. Weird campaigns are good. :)

Hmmm...

A few problems come to mind. A fighter jet wouldn't carry much atmosphere
(assuming you use the gravity plane and related effects when you cross
over to Fusion), and it would be limited to a fairly small crew. (And
*don't* use the jets - you will simultaneously foul and deplete the
atmospheric envelope to no effect.) If you want a plane, a Lear jet or a
C-130 might be better choices. So would a submarine,if you want to get
farther afield.

Now that I think about it, a sub might be a better vehicle to use. It is
hermetically sealed and has its own internal air supply (to supplement the
atmospheric envelope), giving it better range. Replace the sonar with
radar and the torpedo tubes with missile launchers, and it could even
fight in space (assuming you use a military sub). On the down side,
you're using either a diesel boat or a nuclear boat. The diesel sub will
foul the atmospheric envelope pretty quickly, and the nuclear sub will
stop working rather quickly (as they are glorified steamships, and water
intakes won't work in space).

In general, however, the idea seems sound. You'll just need to think
about some of the mechanics.
